Rating by category:
Very good the breakfast and free parking. 10' by from the center.
Internet connection and provision needs to be reviewed. Very slow to the point of being unusable!
I stayed just one night but all staff was friendly and I liked a lot the breakfast. The room was really clean and nicely equipped
Soap fragnance :-)
Customer service was great. Hotel is in a quite area + many parking space available around the hotel.
The only thing is that to get to the centre of Barca you have to get a tram and metro every time + that this service works at night, only Saturdays.
Spacious room. 100 meters from Tramvia Bleu (tram) station "Hospital Sant Joan Despi", line T3, which took us to the Metro stations "Palau Reial" (near Camp Nou) and "Maria Christina" (where there is a Cortes Ingles and a Starbucks). We also took the tram T3 one stop to "Montesa" and change to T2/T1 to "Cornelia" (3 stops) then walked (15 minutes) to Espanyols new stadium. At the tram-station nearby the hotel there was a Mercadona (shop) where we bought water and food etc, to very reasonable prices. (We stored some of it in the mini-bar-fridge.) Opens at 915, closes at 2115. Gas station by the hotel is open during night and has water and bad bread etc, but more expensive, of course. It is possible to take bus 77 from El Prat airport to a bus station 50 meters from the hotel entrance, at daytime. At night - take the 49 and change to N15 (a night bus you can take from "anywhere" in Barcelona and get to the hotel). It takes almost 45(!) minutes with the N15 from La Rambla to the hotel. Metro and tram is faster, but not much...At day-time you can take bus 157 going from the harbour-area, by La Rambla etc, to the hotel. If you are staying for more than one day - buy a travelcard for several days! You pay 2 euros per person (same price for not-recident children from 4 years) for each travel - so if you need to change metro - you have to buy a new ticket before changing. The travel card works at tram, metro and daytime-buses, but not at the night bus. Anyhow - 2 euros for a night ticket from the city centre to the hotel is not much, compared to a taxi bill. Taxis just outside the hotel. Public transport was well-functioning. The gym was ok, even if one of the two tread-mills didn't work.
Very little lights at the gym. No personel and impersonal, as the rest of the hotel. No tub or pool was a little dissapointing for the children. We heard the noise from the junction nearby in our room. We didn't find this hotel especially children friendly at all. Breakfast was not included and was expensive (bad range): was qouted to 16 euros at Booked.net but was 10 euros per person at the hotelreception. Sometimes children pay half price, sometimes not, depending on whos at the reception...No eggs at breakfast - but can be made at request. At 11 o'clock the breakfastroom-door is closed and locked. One day one of us went out couple of minutes before, and didn't get in to the rest... They tried to charged us twice for the breakfast (and the price was not the same at the reception and in the breakfast-room). We experienced all reception-staff as accomondating enough, (even if not everyone spoke english), except from a woman/girl with long dark hair. We think she is the one described in other reviews as patronizing. Wi-fi was really BAD; extremly slow and we lost the connection all the time. The 2 prehistoric computers at the reception-area was not working properly. The toiletries was a tooth-brush with a very little tooth-paste (this we got a new of for some of our days staying at the hotel). We also got 1 - one - very small soap - as well as 1 - one - sponge, for all of us, for some of the days. The shampoo in the dispenser smelt masculine and was no good. There was some free samples(?) of Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner - but this we got only 1 - one - of - for several days - for all of us... We had to argue with the maid to get more than one...None of the maids spoke English. The hotel building was old and worn, but ok to the price. Next time we will find a hotel nearer to the city centre; after a long day sight-seeing and at the beaches (near the port: Barcelonata is the nearest Metro-station)- it would have been better with a hotel in shorter distance.
Good standard for the price. Spacious rooms compared to other hotels in Barcelona, nice view and easy access with a car, plenty of parking space..
Rooms and furniture seem a bit old, could use some updating.
Really helpful staff
Restaurant was a little expensive so didnt use it
